ST. PETERSBURG, FL — Today, the Alliance for Retired Americans, representing more than 4.4 million retirees, older Americans, including 210,515 in Florida, endorsed retired Army Brigadier General Leela Gray for Congress in Florida’s 13th District.
“Too many seniors across Florida’s 13th District are being squeezed by the rising costs of gas, groceries, and insurance. Every week, I hear from veterans and Social Security recipients struggling to navigate the system, get someone on the phone, or get the benefits they earned because of the reckless DOGE cuts supported by Anna Paulina Luna,” said retired Army Brigadier General Leela Gray. “I am running for Congress to listen, lead, and fight for our community. I will work tirelessly to strengthen Social Security and Medicare, lower costs for seniors, and bring accountability and leadership back to our community and nation. I am proud to have the endorsement of the Alliance for Retired Americans for this mission.”
In their endorsement letter, the Alliance for Retired Americans wrote:
“Your positions demonstrate a strong commitment to ensuring all Americans have the secure retirement they have earned. We welcome your leadership on issues such as strengthening and expanding Medicare and Social Security, while protecting the programs from cuts or privatization efforts. Our members support your candidacy because you believe in affordable health care, including lower drug prices, pension security, and quality long-term care. The Alliance for Retired Americans believes that your election to the House of Representatives will enhance the quality of life for older Americans.”
