ST. PETERSBURG - Today, an investigative reporter revealed that Rep. Anna Paulina Luna created a joint fundraising agreement with Rep. Max Miller, last week, after a public barrage of allegations of child and domestic abuse - allegations that have already caused members of his party to call for his resignation. Last week, she even defended him:
“I do not know Max to be a violent person and have only ever found him to be incredibly kind and honorable.”
Luna has already received $4,400 from Max Miller’s leadership PAC. This is a pattern of behavior for Luna, who previously defended Rep. Cory Mills after his own allegations of domestic abuse.
Democratic candidate and retired Brigadier General Leela Gray released the following statement in response to Luna’s disgusting defense of an alleged abuser:
“In the US military, I’ve protected survivors of domestic abuse and held people accountable for misconduct - and it’s unthinkable that the members of the US House of Representatives are held to a lower standard of professional conduct. Luna’s made her position clear - if you’re her friend, a campaign donor, or Jeffrey Epstein, the law doesn’t apply to you. Luna’s words are offensive to survivors of abuse everywhere - and she should immediately apologize to Rep. Miller’s wife and family, and return the money she’s raised from this alleged violent criminal.”
