RATINGS CHANGE: FL-13 Shifted in Leela Gray's Favor Again

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — The Tampa Bay Times is moving Anna Paulina Luna’s seat from “Potentially Vulnerable” to “Vulnerable” in her race against retired Army Brigadier General Leela Gray. The shift follows Fox News’s change yesterday moving FL-13 from Likely to Lean Republican. You can read the whole Tampa Bay Times article here. Gray released the below statement in reaction to the Times’ ratings change:

“Two ratings changes in two days tell you everything about the direction of this race. Voters in our district are tired of a representative who invests in her donor’s oil company while their own costs keep climbing. They are tired of a representative who refuses to hold town halls or debates in the district, but speaks at the RNC Midterm Convention in Dallas. Voters are ready to turn the page on a politics defined by rising costs and corruption and instead choose leaders who put service over self.”

State of the Race:

• Recent polling shows Gray leading in this race – with a House Majority PAC poll showing Gray ahead of Luna 51% to 46% in a district Trump won in 2024 by 13 points.

• Gray is also winning unaffiliated voters by 17 points and winning over one in four Republicans.

• And, with Donald Trump’s job approval underwater in FL-13 by 14 points, a full 9% of 2024 Trump voters are backing Gray.
