ST. PETERSBURG, FL — Retired Brigadier General Leela Gray released the following statement following new reporting that Anna Paulina Luna directly voted to enrich herself, voting to fund federal programs that awarded more than $37 million in taxpayer-funded contracts to her husband’s drone company profiteering during the Iran war.

“This shocking new reporting about Anna Paulina Luna’s continued corruption is extremely concerning. As people across Florida’s 13th District are struggling with the skyrocketing costs of gas, groceries and insurance, Luna is using her position in Washington to enrich herself with millions of dollars of taxpayer-funded contracts.

“First, our community learned about Luna investing up to half a million dollars from an oil company owned by her donor. Now, we are learning Luna may have been voting in Congress to turn legislative funding into cold hard cash. This kind of corruption is exactly the kind of self-serving representation Floridians are tired of in Washington.

“During my 30 years in uniform, I was held to a higher standard of ethics than those who can send our military to war. I am running to clean up this mess and lower costs for families across Florida’s 13th District.

“Enough is enough. Luna needs to open the books and be fully transparent with the people of Florida’s 13th District. She needs to release all the information about her involvement with this company, a full accounting of her actions, and how much she stands to profit from these contracts immediately.”

In August, retired Brigadier General Leela Gray released her Anti-Corruption Agenda to clean up Washington and hold government leaders to the same ethical standards she was held to as a senior military leader.

Luna’s Long Record Of Washington Corruption:

  • Reports revealed that Luna invested up to $500,000 in holdings in a donor’s oil and gas private equity firm, while sitting on the congressional committee responsible for overseeing similar interests at the time of the investment.

  • The Wall Street Journal reported that Luna was accused of allegedly sharing insider information with a donor who used it to profit on prediction markets.

  • Meanwhile, Luna promoted stock trading legislation that fails to extend to the President, Vice President, Cabinet Secretaries, and Supreme Court Justices. Gray’s anti-corruption platform goes further, no exceptions, no carve-outs.
