St. Petersburg, FL — Today, retired Brigadier General Leela Gray’s campaign for Florida’s 13th Congressional District announced a huge milestone, raising over $1 million in the five months since its launch. Nearly 90% of contributions were $100 or less. The Gray campaign enters the next quarter with decisive momentum and over $750,000 cash on hand.
“I am profoundly grateful for this support, which comes directly from neighbors, small business owners, veterans, and seniors who are looking for someone who will put them first in Congress,” said Gray. “Every day, I meet people in this district who are working harder than ever, but feel left behind by a Congress more focused on partisan battles and personal agendas than getting results. Our current representative, Anna Paulina Luna, is the perfect example of what is broken in Washington. Voters are ready for change and accountability, and I’m running for Congress to put service over self and deliver for my neighbors.”
Gray’s 30-year military career was defined by rigor, leadership, and hard work — the exact qualities driving her campaign every day. She enters next quarter with the resources to win in November, and a powerful coalition of Florida and national leaders and organizations, including the Florida AFL-CIO, Congresswoman Kathy Castor (FL-14), Congresswoman Lois Frankel (FL-22), Former State Representative Ben Diamond, Ruth’s List founder Alex Sink, Safety Harbor Mayor Joe Ayoub, EMILY’s List, New Politics, VoteVets, and fellow veterans and Congressmen Jason Crow, Pat Ryan, and Ted Lieu.
